Lenoir City Police Department welcomes new chief

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WATE) — Jonathan Bryant is the new Chief of Police for the Lenoir City Police Department.

Public Safety Director and Former Chief of Police Don White and the LCPD welcomed Bryant who was sworn in Tuesday morning. He was surrounded by family, friends, Lenoir City officials, employees and officers.

White announced his retirement as Chief of Police on May 12, introducing Bryant as his replacement, said Van Shaver, Fifth District Loudon County Commissioner. City Council voted unanimously to hire Bryant. He previously worked for the Chattanooga Police Department.

Bryant is reportedly a long-time acquaintance of Lenoir City Mayor Tony Aikens, Shaver said.

“Welcome Chief Bryant!” LCPD wrote.
